Seeding as a strategy
Samples aren’t just free product — they’re the cheapest audition in affiliate marketing. This lesson covers where sampling is switched on and how to think about it strategically.
Enabling sampling
Sampling is configured per program in the program wizard’s Sampling step, where you choose which products affiliates in that program may request. Keep the list tight: your hero products and the items that photograph well, not the whole catalog.
The seeding workflow
The strategic loop looks like this:
- Spot a promising creator — from Creator Search, Social Listening, or an application
- Get a sample into their hands so they can make real content
- Watch for the content and the tracked sales that follow
- Invest more in the creators who convert; politely decline repeat requests from those who don’t
Because every request, authorization, and resulting sale is tracked in Afflo, you can actually measure the return on each sample instead of guessing.
A permissions note
The sample queue requires affiliate-management permission. If you can’t see the Samples page, your role doesn’t include it — ask the store owner to adjust your access.
