The Create Program Wizard, Step by Step
Every affiliate program in Afflo is created through a six-step wizard: Program Name, Commissions, Attribution & Discounts, Advanced Settings, Sampling, and Storefront Modal. Here’s what each step controls and the choices worth slowing down for.
Name and Commissions
The name is internal — pick something your whole team will recognize in reports. The Commissions step is where the real decisions live:
- Commission Type: Percentage of the order, or Fixed Amount Credit per sale
- Commission Setting: Cash, Store Credit, or Discount
- Payout Provider: chosen here, per program — not once for the whole account
Attribution & Discounts
This step decides how sales get credited:
- Cookie Duration in days — the default is 30, and it’s a sensible starting point
- Tracking Type: codes + links, codes only, UTM links only, or tracked links only
- Discount Code Format and the Landing Page partners send traffic to
Advanced Settings
Set start and end dates (the Schedule Summary previews them in plain language), cap exposure with Maximum Discount Use, toggle tagging referral orders in Shopify, and optionally turn customers into affiliates. Don’t skip the Sampling and Storefront Modal steps that follow — the modal is the referral welcome popup shoppers actually see.
